“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

— Mary Oliver

The beginning of your journey

Starting therapy can feel a bit daunting, and it’s natural to wonder if it’s right for you. Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with is an important first step.

I offer a complementary 15-minute call to talk about your needs and see if we’re a good fit. If you’d like to continue, we can then book an initial session to get to know each other better.

Sessions are 50 minutes and take place weekly. Keeping a regular schedule helps you to get the most out of therapy.

My standard session fee is £80.

Please feel free to get in touch to arrange an initial chat.

Getting Started

When we first meet, we will begin with a little bit of practical information. I’ll ask you about your day-to-day life and gather some basic details so I can better understand you. We will also go through my contract together, so you know what to expect regarding things like booking or cancelling sessions, and we will cover important aspects of therapy, including confidentiality. After that, we’ll start to explore the reasons you’ve chosen to come to therapy and talk about your goals and hopes for our work together.

Continuing your journey

If we then decide to work together, we will meet for an initial six sessions and then review to see how you feel things are going, deciding then whether to continue.

During your journey, I will accompany you, side by side, to unearth that which is holding you back, helping you to examine and make the changes needed to find a life with meaning.

Therapy is a process that can feel different from session to session. It can be uplifting with moments of insight, experiencing positive changes in daily life that can be validating and affirming. However, therapy can also be challenging. Revisiting painful experiences can be difficult, bringing up feelings of shame, fear, sadness or anger. As a psychotherapist, my role is to support you through these difficult moments with compassion, honesty and reliability, creating a safe space for you to process your feelings.

As you become more aware of your life, your relationships, and the ways that you have needed to protect yourself, you may find that you begin to gain a greater understanding of both yourself and your relationships. You may also feel a greater sense of ease within you, allowing your true and authentic self to shine through.
